Saturday, April 30th the boys of Troop 43 helped plant trees in tornado-ravaged Wadena as a community service project. We traveled to Wadena Friday night and got registered and started setting up tents just as the rain started.
Luckily, at this point the rain was only a drizzle so we finished setting up
and then went to the informational meeting teaching us all how to plant the trees
before grilling up hotdogs for supper.
The next morning the boys were happy
to eat the pancakes that were cooked up for them
Then they were bussed into the city to dig holes
and plant trees
and finally they packed up to head for home.
They arrived home muddy and tired, but I know they were happy they had decided to do this worthwhile project!
