brave girl eating: A Family’s struggle with Anorexia by Harriet Brown April 12, 2011

brave girl eating was a scary book.  I had read a book, a fiction book, a couple of years ago about an adolescent with anorexia.  That book was told from the young girl’s pointof view and of course it was fiction.

This book is written from the point of view of the mother and is very true.  Harriet Brown and her husband chose FBT, Family Based Therapy to treat their daughter’s disease.  An option that was incredibly difficult and time consuming, but one with significantly better results than an inpatient clinic.  For the full review of this book go to By Book or By Crook.
